When you register songs with Worth, we handle collecting revenue from your distributors and labels, then automatically distribute earnings to rights holders and investors based on ownership percentages. You can view your balance and request withdrawals at any time.

How Worth Handles Your Revenue​

The Revenue Flow​

  1. You Register Songs - Register your catalog with ownership information
  2. Worth Collects Revenue - We collect payments from your distributors and labels on your behalf
  3. Worth Reconciles Data - We match payments to royalty statements to verify accuracy

Setting Up Revenue Collection​

Getting Started​

When you register songs with Worth, we'll work with you to set up revenue collection:

Step 1: Share Your Distribution Details Provide information about:

  • Your distributors (e.g., DistroKid, TuneCore, CD Baby)
  • Your record label agreements
  • Your publisher relationships
  • Access credentials for distribution platforms

Step 2: Grant Access We'll guide you through granting Worth access to:

  • Distribution portal login credentials
  • API access where available
  • Statement delivery (email forwarding or direct access)

Step 3: Verification We verify:

  • ISRC codes match between Worth and distributors
  • Song names are consistent
  • Ownership percentages are accurate

Step 4: Collection Begins Once set up, Worth automatically:

  • Collects payments from distributors
  • Reconciles with royalty statements
  • Distributes to rights holders
  • Updates your organization balance

Working with Multiple Distributors​

If you use multiple distributors:

  • Provide access to each platform
  • Worth consolidates revenue from all sources
  • You see a unified view of total earnings
  • Single balance across all revenue sources

Rights Types​

Revenue can be distributed by rights type:

Recording Rights (Master):

  • Streaming revenue
  • Download sales
  • Physical sales
  • Sync licensing for the recording

Publishing Rights (Composition):

  • Mechanical royalties
  • Performance royalties
  • Sync licensing for the composition

If you have different owners for different rights types, Worth distributes each revenue stream to the appropriate rights holders.

Current Ownership​

Revenue is distributed based on current ownership at the time of collection:

  • If ownership changes, future revenue goes to new owners
  • Historical revenue remains with the owners at the time it was earned
  • All changes are tracked for complete transparency

Tax Documentation​

Worth provides tax documentation for your revenue:

  • Annual 1099 forms (for US entities)
  • Transaction records for tax filing
  • Breakdown by rights type
  • Historical data for prior years

Common Questions​

When will I start seeing revenue? Once you've set up access to your distributors, Worth begins collecting revenue immediately. You'll see it appear in your balance as payments are collected and reconciled.

How often is revenue collected? This depends on your distributors' payment schedules:

  • Most streaming services pay monthly
  • Some traditional publishers pay quarterly
  • Worth collects as soon as payments are available

What if I change distributors? Just notify the Worth team and provide access to your new distributor. We'll ensure no revenue is missed during the transition.

Can I see revenue for individual songs? Yes, if you have Song Viewer or Song Admin access, you can see detailed revenue for each song.

What if there's a discrepancy? Contact the Worth team immediately. We'll investigate with your distributor and resolve any issues.

Are there fees for revenue collection? Contact the Worth team for information about platform fees and pricing.

How is revenue split if ownership changes mid-month? Revenue is attributed based on when it was earned, and ownership at that time determines distribution.

Can I set up automatic withdrawals? Contact the Worth team to discuss automatic withdrawal options.

What happens to revenue from co-owned songs? Each organization with ownership receives their share directly. You see your portion in your organization balance.

How do I track revenue for multiple projects? Your organization balance shows total across all projects. View individual project revenue in the project dashboard.
